RIDGEVILLE, S.C. - John W. Rowell, 85, of Ridgeville, SC, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2009 at PARKS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Bonne Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at PARKS FUNERAL HOME Saturday afternoon from 1 o'clock until time of service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Frances Willis SPCA, P.O. Box 1116, Summerville, SC 29484. Mr. Rowell was born May 2, 1924 in Marion, SC, a son of Herbert William Rowell, Sr. and Mary Josephine Thrower Rowell. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Coast Guard. Mr. Rowell was a retired truck driver and a member of East Summerville Congregation Jehovah Witness Church. Survivors include one son, Whitman Rowell of Ridgeville, SC; one sister, Vera Lawrence of Surfside, SC; two nieces, Pamela Lewis and Kimberly Nava of Cary, NC; one nephew, James E.
