NICHOLS — Herbert Earnest Lane, 66, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 18, at Old Ebenezer Cemetery, directed by Richardson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service. Mr. Lane was born in Mullins, a son of the late Lloyd and Margie Kendall Lane. He was retired from Merita Bakery Company. Surviving are his sons, Greg Lane of Nichols and Kerry Lane of Greenville, SC; and a sister, Barbara Brown and her husband, Maxcey, of Mullins.
