    2. MULLINS — Mrs. Evelyn Brown Rogers, 85, widow of James Franklin Rogers, Sr., died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at her home after an illness. She was born July 27, 1923 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Melvin Mack Brown and the late Lucille Rogers Brown. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Celia Perritt Circle and the United Methodist Women. Surviving Mrs. Rogers are: a Son: Jimmy Rogers and his wife Anne of Mullins; a Son-in-Law: Ed Baker of Darlington; 4 Grandchildren: Rev. Eddie Baker and his wife Susan, Elaine Milligan and her husband Frank, Dusty Rogers and Brittany Rogers; 4 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great Grandchildren; and her Sisters and Brother: Shelby White and her husband Dale of Marion, Tom Brown and his wife Jeraline of Marion, Olnie Hammond of Chadbourn, N.C. and Barbara Passmore of Idabel, Okla. Mrs. Rogers was predeceased by a daughter, Ella Baker and 5 brothers, Mack Brown, Doug Brown, James Brown, Earl Brown and D.C. Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22 at Macedonia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kem Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
