MARION — John Michael Adkins, 46, husband of Theresa Mason Adkins, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Marion Country Medical Center. He was born August 22, 1962 in Logan County, West Virginia, a son of Curtis C. and Jeanette Ferrell Adkins. He was an Assistant Manager for Sav-Way stores. Mr. Adkins was a US Army veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne. Surviving Mr. Adkins in addition to his wife of the home and his parents of Nichols are: 2 Sons: John Michael Adkins, Jr. of Texas and Nolan M.C.Adkins of Nichols; 6 Daughters: Carolyn Fitzwater, Tabitha Adkins and Teresa Adkins, all of Texas and Victoria D.R. Adkins, Savanna S.L. Adkins and Vivien J.M. Adkins, all of Nichols; a Brother: Curtis Adkins, Jr. of South Carolina; and 3 Sisters: Tina Reed of Minnesota, Helen Ling of South Carolina and Margie McCullen of North Carolina. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 4 at the Florence National Cemetery, with Rev. Kevin Garris officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
