CONWAY | Lavern Robinson, 68, died Saturday, November 1, 2008, following an illness. Mr. Robinson, son of the late Flander and Rosa Bell Robinson, was born June 10, 1940 in Marion County, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, three siblings preceded him in death. Lavern was united in holy matrimony to the former Joyce Hickman who became the pillar of his life. To this union, God blessed them with one daughter, Megan. He was blessed with two children, Kevin and Tonia from a previous marriage. He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted and loving wife, Joyce; two sons, Minister Kevin (Minister Annerta) Robinson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Donald Robinson of Conway; two daughters, Tonia (Darwin) Graham of Philadelphia, and Megan Robinson of Columbia; one sister, Odessa Robinson of Gresham; three grandchildren, Paris, Keon, and Malik; five brothers-in-law, Oscar (Jackee), Carnell (Angie), Thomas, and Albert (Deborah), all of Conway, and Larry Hickman of Darlington; three sisters-in-law, Claudia (Lonzo) Bellamy of Conway, Valerie (Herman) Senor of Springfield, Illinois, and Linda (Loydell) Anderson of Conway; special family, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Dewitt, Tammy Baker, Frances Dewitt, Joe and Pamela Willard of Conway; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 in Cherry Hill Baptist Church Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
