LORIS | Mrs. Eva Lee Holmes Collins, 68, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at her home following a sudden illness. Mrs. Collins was born September 22, 1940 in Loris, to Mr. Bruce Hampton Holmes and Mrs. Mary Ann Causey Holmes. Mrs. Collins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a homemaker and attended Zoan United Methodist Church. Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her brother, Hampton Holmes; and her three sisters, Jeanette O'Quinn, Lillie Lee, and Ann H. Cox. Survivors include her husband, George Edward Collins; her son, Kevin Collins of Nichols; her daughter, Deana F. Robinson and husband, David, of Winston Salem, N.C.; her brother, Lurie Holmes of Loris; her sister, Carolyn Johnson of Mullins; and her three grandchildren, Seth Coleman Collins, Dustin Forest Robinson, and Victoria Ann Robinson. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008, in Zoan United Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor John Watts and Mr. Glen Elliott will officiate services. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Hardwick Funeral Home.
