    2. LORIS | Mr. Hermon O'Neal Long, 74, of the Lawndale community, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 4, 2008, at his home following a brief illness. Mr. Long was born February 23, 1934 in Loris, and was the oldest son of the late Marvin David and Eula Inez Hardee Long. Mr. Long was an auto body repairman, and a member of the Lawndale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Cora Eloise Williams Long of the home; one son, Freddie L. Long and wife, Beth, of Loris; one daughter, Brenda L. Coats and husband, Dennis, of Loris; four grandchildren, Wesley Coats, Jesse Coats, Jennifer Long, and Kellie Long, all of Loris; five sisters, Margaret Chestnut of Loris, Betty Green and husband, Gary, of Loris, Sylvia Jones and husband, Thomas, of Aynor, Eulee ''Lucy'' Roark of Loris, and Carolyn Suta and husband, Henry, of Westminster, Colorado; four brothers, Charles Long and wife, Earlene, Douglas Long and wife, Joyce, M.D. Long and wife, Faye, and Wendell Long and wife, Molly, all of Loris; and a very special niece, Cora Marie Williams of High Point, N.C. Mr. Long was predeceased by a son, Edward O'Neal ''Tootsy'' Long; one sister, Dalma L. Long; and two brothers, Thurmon B. Long and Donald J. Long. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in Lawndale Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Committal services will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Long will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 in Harrdwick Funeral Home.
