LADSON — Harold Derwood Ard, 70 ,formerly of Mullins, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston after an illness. He was born August 3, 1938 in Mullins, a son of the late Howard and Maggie Turbeville Ard. Mr. Ard retired from Food Lion as a meat cutter. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Mr. Ard are: a Daughter: Joy Stephens of Surfside Beach; a Grandson: Kristofer Stephens; 2 Brothers: Edward Ard and his wife Barbara of Summerville and Robert Lee Ard and his wife Sara of Temperance Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ard was predeceased by a brother, James Carl Ard. Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon, October 25, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
