FLORENCE | Carol Jeanette Grice Suggs, 64, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. Suggs was born in Marion County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Lonnie Grice Sr. and Ruby Perritt Grice. She was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Dawsey United Methodist Church. Mrs. Suggs loved spending time with her grandchildren, and also loved flowers and planting. Surviving are her husband, George Raymond Suggs Sr. of Florence; three sons, George Raymond ''Ray'' (Annette) Suggs Jr. of Hemingway, and Russell James (Donna) Suggs and Rodney Neil (Beth) Suggs, both of Florence; one brother, Lonnie Grice of Florence; two sisters, Elaine Duval of Greenwood and Sabra Longshore of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in the Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Florence County Memorial Gardens.
