LATTA — Mr. James Carlisle Allen, 71, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Latta Presbyterian Church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Kannadays Funeral Home of Latta. Mr. Allen was born in Marion County on Oct. 30, 1936, a son of the late James C. Allen Sr. and Eunice Herring Allen. He was retired from DuPont. He was the widower of Elizabeth Ward Allen. Mr. Allen was a member of Latta Presbyterian Church, the VFW and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Allen is survived by sons, James Carlisle Jim Allen III of Latta, Russell Wade Allen (Maureen) of Florence; daughter, Teresa Allen Miller (Michael) of Latta; and grandchildren, Courtney Miller, Christopher Miller, Chloe Allen, Cameron Allen, Casen Gouveia; and nieces and nephews.
