CLEARWATER, Fla. — Claire Brunson Ayres Wright, 102, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, in Clearwater, Fla. She was born and raised in Nichols, S.C., the daughter of Herbert Lennon Ayres and Carrie Claire (Brunson) Ayres. She graduated from Columbia College, was a teacher and then worked at the tax commission in Columbia, S.C. She later moved to Alaska, where she worked for the government and where she met Frank Wright, her late husband. They retired to Florida in the late 1960s. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
