GALIVANTS FERRY | Reba Grainger Buffkin, 79, wife of the late Brice Elvington Buffkin, passed away Monday, January 19, 2009 at Marion County Medical Center. Mrs. Buffkin was born February 18, 1929 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Ed Grainger and the late Janie Greenwood Grainger. She attended Carolina Baptist Church. In addition to her husband; Mrs. Buffkin was predeceased by four children, Zendall C. Buffkin, Celia Buffkin, Rusty B. Buffkin and Robin Buffkin; one brother and one sister. She is survived by seven children, Tisha Buffkin of Galivants Ferry, Petrina Buffkin of Aynor, Bronica McDaniels and her husband, Mike, of Latta, Gail Poston of Dillon, Rocky Lane Buffkin and his wife, Francis, of Laurinburg, N.C., Berwyn Paul Buffkin and his wife, Kimberly, of Nichols, and Stoney Wayne Buffkin and his wife, Diane, of Lake View; three sisters, Inez Johnson of Tabor City, N.C., Hiwatha Strickland of Loris, and Shelby Jean Fowler and her husband, Thomas, of Whiteville, N.C.; two brothers, Ronnie Grainger and his wife, Bobbie Jean, of Loris, and Dale Grainger and his wife, Artymae, of Marion; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City, N.C.
