MARION | Mr. Thomas James ''Jimmy''Snowden, 62, died Sunday, May 7, 2006. Mr. Snowden was born in Portsmouth, Va., a son of the late James Thomas Snowden and Neva Jane Shaw Snowden. He is also predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Snowden of Greenville, N.C. and Robert Snowden of Portsmouth, Va. He was an insurance agent with Prudential and Liberty Mutual for 23 years. Mr. Snowden was a Mullins High School graduate and attended the University of South Carolina. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church were he was a lay leader, Sunday School teacher, chairman of the Administrative Council and member of the Methodist Men's Group. Mr. Snowden was past president of the Marion Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was president of the United Fund of Marion County and former board member of Marion Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Snowden is survived by his wife, Kathy Grice Snowden, of the home; a son, James Steward Snowden and his wife, Jane, of Mullins; a daughter, Brana Jane Snowden of Bluffton; a brother, Joseph Roth Snowden and his wife, Winkie, of Marion; and a sister, Helen Ann Pressley and her husband, Marvin, of Maple Valley, Wash. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, May 9th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Richardson Funeral Home.
