CENTENARY | Miss Mary Virginia ''B'' Whaley, 104, died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at her residence after an illness. Miss Whaley was born Oct. 10, 1901 in the Centenary Community of Marion County, a daughter of the late William Manley Whaley and the late Eliza McQueen Whaley. She was a retired teacher, having taught for 42 years. Miss Whaley attended Limestone College. She was a member of Centenary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the WMU. Miss Whaley is survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, May 27, 2006 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion. A sunset graveside service will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2006 in Palmer Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Shaw and the Rev. Joe Proctor officiating.
