ROGERS, Ethelyne Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of December 14, 2005, Ethelyne Lewis (Kink) Rogers of Hanahan, widow of Robert Sidney (Rob) Rogers. Mrs. Rogers was born January 9, 1924, in Mullins, S.C., the daughter of Solon Bethea Lewis and Ethel Mae Rogers Lewis. She attended Marion High School and was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. She was a member of the Azalea Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the owner and president of R. S. Rogers Plumbing Corporation after the death of her husband in 1974. She was licensed as the first female Plumber Mechanic in South Carolina in 1978. She was employed by the U. S. Civil Service Examiners Board at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for fifteen years. She organized the first Hanahan Exchange Auxiliary and served as president for two years. She was an active member of the Board of Examiners and Review for the City of Hanahan. She was also appointed as a Democratic delegate to S.C. under Governor West. She is survived by one son, Robert T. Rogers and his wife, Norma Jo Rogers, one granddaughter, April Nelsine Rogers; three brothers, Solon B. (Sonny) Lewis of Moncks Corner, Sherrill Sloan (Judy) Lewis of Florence and Gene Lawson (Bunky) Lewis of Hanahan; one sister, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Gaddy of Mullins.
