    2. TABOR CITY, N.C. | Mrs. Hazel Mills Williams Avant, 80, of Pireway Place passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Loris Community Hospital following a sudden illness. Mrs. Avant was born May 26, 1926 in Marion County, a daughter of the late William David Mills and the late Effie Williams Mills. She was a homemaker and a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Tabor City. Mrs. Avant was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Avant; three sisters, Geneva Avant, Mabel Rogers and Gertrude Green; two brothers, Jessie Williams and Tillman Williams; and a special sister-in-law, Margaret Avant. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Dorman and her husband, Lannis, of Loris and Lillie Mae Lewis and her husband, Wesley, of Aynor; three special nieces, Wanda Jones of Loris, Diane Grubbs of Virginia, and Pamela Hernandez and her husband, Jose, of Chadbourn, N.C.; two brothers, L.H. Mills and his wife, Ann, and John Mills and his wife, Joyce, all of Savannah, Ga.; a special friend, Irene Williams of Loris; two granddaughters, Seina D. Todd and her husband, Barry, of Longs and Cricket D. Fowler and her husband, Bart, of Loris; and five great-granddaughters, Lauren Todd, Payton Todd, Marleigh Todd, Jeanana Fowler and Railyn Fowler. The family received friends on Wednesday at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August, 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the Ward Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
