RALEIGH, N.C. | Jack Harrington McMillan, 78, died Thursday, August 17, 2006 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Mr. McMillan was born April 12, 1928 in Mullins, a son of the late Arch Bright and Annie Jane Harrington McMillan. He was predeceased by a brother, John Arch McMillan Sr.; two sisters, Bebe M. Spivey and Sara M. Sellers; and a nephew, Charles Arch McColl. Jack was a 1944 graduate and salutatorian of Mullins High School. He graduated from Kings Business College in Charlotte, N.C. and the University of N.C. in Chapel Hill. Following his service in the Korean Conflict as a Corporal, he was an accountant with the N.C. Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company in Raleigh, N.C. for 35 years. He was a lover of jazz music, theatre, the arts, and one of his favorite activities was jogging and walking on the beach at Surfside Beach. Surviving are his sister, Mary Alice M. McColl of Bennettsville; his sister-in-law, Mary R. McMillan of Mullins; seven nieces; three nephews; and many friends. Jack's request was a graveside service at McMillan Cemetery in Mullins, which will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2006.
