KINGSTREE - Mrs. Edna Robinson Brown, 89, wife of the late James Laurie Brown, Sr., died Monday, August 21, 2006 at a Kingstree nursing home. Mrs. Brown was born December 4, 1917 in Williamsburg County; a daughter of Ada Horton Robinson and Edward Graham Robinson. She was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and the Pilot Club. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Williamsburg and enjoyed many crafts and needlework. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a son, James Laurle Brown, Jr. and her four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one son, Walter H. Brown (Joanne) of Kingstree; one daughter, Judy B. Singletary (Leonard) of Marion; one daughter-in-law, Julieanne M. Brown of Kingstree; one sister, Betty R. Davis of Andrews; one granddaughter, Lauri B. Stevenson (Andy) of Columbia; eight grandsons, Gene Singletary (Kimberley) of Columbia, Jeff Singletary (Wendy) of Florence, Michael Singletary (Susan) of Marion, Bryan Singletary of Florence, James L. Brown, III (Karen) of Kingstree, Richard W. Brown (Paige) of Kingstree, Mark Brown (Beth) of Kingstree, and Michael Brown of Charleston; four great-granddaughters and seven great-grandsons. Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday in Kingstree Memorial Gardens, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home.
