I now have access to the following books and will be glad to do look ups. This will be just a wee bit easier than searching microfilm. Helen Marion District School Records and Miscellaneous Voting List. 1849 - 1864 Marion County Federal Census Extract 1880 Marion County Federal Census Extract 1870 1860 Census of the United States, State of South Carolina, County of Marion. 1850 Census of Marion County, South Carolina Marion County Federal Census Extract 1840 Marion County Federal Census Extract 1830 1820 Census of the United States, State of South Carolina District of Marion
Would you look up William James Keeffe in 1870 and 1880 printed books? Also, his Mother Eliza Jane Keeffe. Neither are listed in 1880 MF Census (LDS). I found my grandmother Ellen Keeffe living with her Mother on MF. William was in SC or GA in 1880 and I cannot find him listed. He did not die until 1920's. His wife, Ellen White Keeffe, was with him in late 1880's and early 1890's and they had moved to Clinch County, GA at that time. William was born about 1860. Marie: Sorry but my Probate Books are Vol. 1 and 2. I don't have Vol. 3 and it is the one that would cover the years that are of interest to you. The Keeffe entries in the books that I have are all in the 1840's. If you decide that you would like to have them I will be glad to supply the information from them. They are for Lewis Keeffe, William Keeffe, Sr. (who was father of Lewis), and Daniel J. Keeffe. These, of course, were dead long before your William was born. I remember that we put one Keeffe will on the Marion County Web Site. I assume that you have seen it. I wish you the very best of luck as you continue to seek information on William Keeffe.
