    3. I would like some information on newspapers in Marion, SC. I need an obituary from 1975, and want to know if the old newspapers are on microfilm in a library or how can one find an obit from that time period. Any help would be appreciated. I would like the phone number of the library, to see if they might have it. I do not live near Marion, so I hope someone who does, can help me. Thanks! Lucy

    3. The Marion Library has The Marion Star- Dillon Herald for sure and probably the Florence Morning News on microfilm. I have researched the 1920- early1930's for obits and there are none- But I am sure that the later the date the better- I looked in the Morning News around 1955 & found obits so probably most papers started around the same time- Good Luck- Just call them and they can tell you more ----- Original Message ----- From: Lucy Manson <lsm@easley.net> To: <SCMARION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 30, 2001 8:24 AM Subject: [SCMARION-L] Obituaries in Marion, SC > I would like some information on newspapers in Marion, SC. > I need an obituary from 1975, and want to know if the old newspapers are > on microfilm in a library or how can one find an obit from that time > period. > Any help would be appreciated.
