Sanders Jr., 77, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bennettsville Church of God with burial in Brownsville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 7-9 this evening at the Church of God. Whitner-Evans Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Sanders died Monday. Born in Marlboro County, he was a son of the late James Peterkin Sr. and Allie Elizabeth Hudson Sanders. He was the proprietor of Sanders Electric Company and attended the Church of God. He was first married to the late Kathleen Smith Sanders. Surviving are his wife, Alice Ruth Hughes Sanders of Blenheim; sons, Ray Sanders of Siler City, N.C., Dean Sanders of Bennettsville and Jimmy Sanders of Blenheim; sisters, Eleanor Bates of Lexington, Doris Clarke of West Columbia, Mary Sanders of Columbia and Louise Galloway of Darlington; stepsons, Randy Jackson of Hartsville, Keith Jackson of Great Falls and Eric Jackson of Bennettsville; stepdaughter, Patricia McDowell of Blenheim; grandchildren, Katherine Sanders, Elise Sanders, Jim Sanders and Drake Sanders and a stepgrandchild, Courtney McDowell.
