Wise, 65, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Brockington Funeral Home with burial in Lake City Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice of the Pee Dee, 555 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506. Mr. Wise died August 4, 2001, at his residence after an illness.. Born in Florence Co., he was a son of the late Johnny J. and Etheree Benton Wise. He was a US Air Force Veteran and retired from Overnite Transportation Company. Surviving are wife, Mattie Richardson Wise of Lake City; sons, John M. Wise, Robert Lewis Wise, James Christopher Wise, all of Lake City; stepson, Charles "Mickey" (Sandra) Collins of Lancaster, stepdaughters, Patricia C. (Robin) Powell of Johnsonville, Carolyn (Eddie) Elston of Spartanburg, Denise C. (Chuck) Lawrimore of Hemingway; brother, William D. "Billy" (Bonnie) Wise of Lake City; nine stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wise was predeceased by his first wife, Juliet Morris Wise and a brother, Allen Wise.
