McPhatter, 63, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Dillon Church of God with burial in Carter Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home of Dillon. Mr. McPhatter died Friday. Born in Dillon County, he was a son of Clara Belle McPhatter and the late Melvin McPhatter. He retired from International Paper Company, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his daughter, Tonya Renee McPhatter of Suffolk, Va.; brother, Douglas McPhatter of Wilmington, N.C.; sister, Lois Thompson of Hamer; granddaughter, Diamond Danielle Kelly of Suffolk; mother of Hamer.
