My Horn family resided just up the River Road from the Ebenezer and Celia Barfield Rogers family. Warren Horn (c1815-1880) had a daughter, Mary Jane, who is not found in later records, and no record of any marriage for her ever found. In some of Warren's estate documents (which don't name all his children), an R.R. Rogers was shown as one of the estate appraisers in December, 1880. In 1909, R.R. Rogers and M.J. Rogers were surety for a bond on my great grandfather, J.D. Horn. I have always wondered if this was Mary Jane Horn, and she had married this R.R. Rogers, perhaps a second wife, as she was getting on up there in age in the last census I have found her. I wondered if anyone had any information on Robert R. Rogers (son of Ebenezer and Celia), his dates, who he married, names of his children, where he resided and is buried, and so on. There is an R.R. Rogers (1855-1926) buried at Old Zion Church. Is this the same one? If not, does anyone know who he was? The children of Warren and Flora Ann Carmichael Horn were: 1. William Capers Horn (c1843-c1864) never wed, died in Civil War 2. Caroline Horn (c1946-????) married Roger R. Roberts (2nd wife) 3. Mary Jane born (c1846 - no record after 1870) did she marry R.R. Rogers? 4. John Madison Horn (c1847-c1864) never wed, died in Civil War 5. Neil Horn (c1848-after 1910) never wed, died in State Hospital, Columbia 6. Irene "Reenie" Horn (c1850*-1935) mar John R. Lupo bur Hopewell Cem, Fork. 7. Jefferson D. "J.D." Horn (1852-1931) mar Mary Elizabeth Thompson 8. Warren Franklin "Frank" Horn (c1855-after 1909) mar? Rachel (unknown) 9. (Hardy) Hugh McCall "Mack" Horn (c1858-after 1900) never wed 10. Melissa Ann Monila "Lissy" Horn c1866-1937, never wed. (*Irene's tombstone says born 1854, but she was shown in 1850 census!) If anyone can provide information on R.R. Rogers, or on any of these folks, it would be very helpful. I have been looking for the burial place of Caroline Horn Roberts for many years. I first found the information that Caroline married Roger R. Rogers in Marilyn Roberts' wonderful book on the Roberts family. It was confirmed by Mr. Bert Roberts of Fork, who remembered his step-grandmother and gave me much valuable information about her children, but couldn't remember where she was buried. And yes, the irony that one of the Horn girls married Roger R. Roberts, and the other may have married Robert R. Rogers, has not escaped me. :-) Jo Church Dickerson Betty Jo wrote: The son of Ebenezer and Celia married Martha Campbell. The R. R. Rogers is Robert R. My grandfather, Emerson Pentleton was John Kemp's brother. Whose child was Myrtle Price? I have a Price connection.
