GALIVANTS FERRY Bessie Martin Bessie E. Jenerette Martin, 81, of Brunson Springs Road and widow of Cleveland B. Martin, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Olin "Doc" N. and Uni Belle Rabon Jenerette. She was a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school classes for many years. Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Martin of Conway, Bobby Paul Martin of Myrtle Beach, and Lonnie Richard Martin Sr. and Donnie Burroughs Martin, both of Conway; six daughters, Mary Eunice Larrimore and Dottie Ann Roberson, both of Conway, Louise Burnette Davis of Galivants Ferry, Betty Sue Johnson and Glenda E. Housand, both of Myrtle Beach, and Hilda M. Mincey of Nichols; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Boyd "L.D." Jenerette of Los Lunas, N.M. The funeral was held Wednesday at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge.
