Billy Poe Jones officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Memorials may be made to Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church, 4070 Hwy. 501 W., Conway, SC 29526. Mr. Hughes died Sunday, September 2, 2001, in Conway Hospital. Born in Horry Co., he was a son of Steven Alton Jones Sr. and Betty Sue Martin Johnson. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. Surviving are his mother of Myrtle Beach; father of Lugoff; stepfather, Frederick Johnson of Myrtle Beach; stepmother, Debbie Jones of Lugoff; wife, Amanda Hughes of Conway; son, Donald Cleveland Hughes of Conway; sister, Cindy Jean Tompai of Myrtle Beach; half-sisters, Michelle Grieswell of Beaufort, Dawn Ray of Lugoff; half- brothers, Steven Jones Jr., Darrow Jones, both of Columbia; great-grandmother, Lulu Mae Garrison of Columbia.
