GALIVANTS FERRY Virginia Hardwick Virginia Josephine Johnson Hardwick, 70, wife of N.D. Hardwick Jr., of the Berea community of Horry County, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of Lee Johnson and the late Ruth Amanda Roberts Johnson. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church. She retired from the Horry County RMC office after 32 years of service. Survivors, in addition to her husband and father, both of Galivants Ferry, include two daughters, Cynthia Johnson and her husband, Albert, and Patsy Martin, all of Galivants Ferry; four grandchildren, Jade Martin, Chase Martin and Albert Martin Johnson, all of Galivants Ferry, and Amanda J. Howard of Clemson; a great-grandchild, Frank James Howard III of Clemson; three brothers, Wilbur E. Johnson, U.A. Johnson and Bobby L. Johnson, all of Galivants Ferry; and two sisters, Mildred Perritt and Vienna Barnhill, both of Galivants Ferry. She was predeceased by a grandson, Brandon David Johnson. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Berea Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Jenerette will officiate.
