NICHOLS | Mrs. Alice Stephens Willoughby, 88, joined her eternal Father on Thursday, February 19, 2009. Mrs. Willoughby was born in Horry County, the daughter of the late Leland Stephens and Maggie Bell Gerrald Stephens. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Allard Willoughby. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and dedicated her life to her family. Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Cherry) Willoughby of Nichols, and Darrell Willoughby of Nichols; three daughters, Mary W. (John) Joyner of Nichols, Alice Linda (Wayne) Singleton of Timmonsville, and Wanda W. (Troy) Laird of Columbia; as well as nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Maxwell (Betty) Stephens of Nichols, and Bobby (Marie) Stephens of Murrells Inlet. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Stephens Cemetery in Nichols. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Meares Funeral Home of Mullins.
