MULLINS — Mr. Alfred Parnell Brumbles, Sr., 96, widower of Emma Atkinson Brumbles, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Marion Nursing Center after an illness. He was born December 21, 1912 in Dillon County, a son of the late Adville and Kitty Idell Huggins Brumbles. Mr. Brumbles was a retired farmer and an avid hunter. Surviving Mr. Brumbles are: 5 Sons: A.P. Brumbles, Jr. of Mullins, B. Frank Brumbles of Mullins, Ray Stovall Brumbles of Mullins, Andy L. Brumbles of Johnston and J. Michael Brumbles of Mullins; 4 Daughters: Katherine B. Poston of Marion, Kitty B. Lane of Columbia, JoAnne B. Jackson of Dillon and Susie B. Owens of Kingstree; 13 Grandchildren; and 17 Great Grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 7 at Watson Cemetery in the Zion Community. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Michael Brumbles at 3451 Zion Rd.
