MULLINS Mattie G. Altman Mattie Grainger Altman, 79, wife of Dwight Erskine Altman, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at home after an illness. She was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Dillon County, a daughter of the late William and Fannie Rogers Grainger. She was a homemaker and had worked with Anvil Knitwear for 20 years. She was a graduate of Lake View High School. She was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband of 62 years, include a daughter, Virginia Altman Bryant of Myrtle Beach and Mullins; two sons, Billy Steven Altman of Lake Mary, Fla.; her grandchildren, Winford A. "Chip" Bryant Jr., Jessica Renee Altman and Carrol and Brenda Hatfield; and a sister, Eva Butler of Lake View. She was predeceased by a daughter, Alice M. "Judy" Altman. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Devotion Gardens Cemetery.
