STROUD, Mable Entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 20, 2006, Mable Olean Smith Stroud, 91, of North Charleston and wife of David O. Stroud. She was born October 4, 1914 in Loris, SC; a daughter of the late James Martin and Cora Barnhill Smith. She was preceded in death by a brother, Grady Smith and a sister, Bessie Gause. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marie Stroud Godin and her husband, Jerry of Hanahan, SC; sons, Carlisle Stroud and his wife, Barbara of Summerville, SC, Earl Stroud of Bonneau, SC and Wayne Stroud of Moncks Corner, SC; sisters, Ella Elliott of Nichols, SC and Leona Gore of Loris, SC; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Mable had retired as Housekeeping Supervisor at MUSC after 20 years of service. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2006 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2006. In lieu of flowers, Mable's family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3595 Ashley Phosphate Road, North Charleston, SC 29418.
