CONWAY | Richard ''Dickie'' Holmes, age 59, of Dukes Road, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006. Mr. Holmes was born Oct. 19, 1946 in Horry County, a son of the late Finley and Clara Harding Holmes. He was retired from U.P.S., was of the Baptist Faith and loved fishing. Surviving are his wife, Willia Holmes of Conway; four sons, Donald Ard and his wife, Debbie, and Terry Ard and his wife, Amber, all of Conway, Richard Ard and his wife, Loria, of Aynor, and Timothy Holmes and his wife, Cammie, of Columbia; three daughters, Melissa Turner and her husband, Jimmy, and Darlene Hucks and her husband, Jerry, all of Mullins, and Stacy Adkins and her husband, Terry, of Conway; two brothers, Mickey Holmes and his wife, Kitty, and Joseph Holmes and his wife, Carol, all of Conway; one sister, Deloris Stanley of Missouri; very special friends, Randy and Rose McDowell, Jim Edwards and Jimmy Edwards; 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with the Rev. John Holmes officiating.
