MULLINS — Timothy Wayne Hayes, 36, and his wife, Debra Backus Hayes, were both killed Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, in a tragic automobile accident in Utah. Funeral services for Timothy will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Timmy was born Aug. 27, 1969, in Mullins, a son of Charles Hayes Sr. and the late Betty Jo Richardson Hayes. He was employed by the Union-Pacific Railroad. Surviving Timmy are his father, Charles Hayes Sr. and his special friend, Nell Britt, of Mullins; his children, Timothy T.J. Hayes Jr. and David Hayes, both of Mullins, and Robert Rory Hardy, Candace Hardy and David Lynn Hardy, all of American Fork, Utah; two brothers, Charles F. Hayes Jr. and his wife, Tessa, of Mullins and Steve Huggins and his wife, Tabatha, of Monroe, N.C.; and two sisters, Debbie Pullie of Latta and Sandra Hardy and her husband, Mike, of Marion. Timmy was predeceased by his mother, Betty Jo Richardson Hayes.
