FLORENCE — William Junior Huggins, 77, of Florence died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in a Florence health care facility after an illness. Mr. Huggins was born in Marion County, a son of the late William and Mary Cooper Huggins. He retired after more than 30 years as a truck driver from Southeastern Freight Line and was a member of the Gospel Temple Worship Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Shelley Huggins; a son, Donnie Huggins; and a brother, Earl Huggins. Surviving are his loving wife, Helen Tice Huggins of the home; children, Cathy (Bobby) Crawford, Glenn (Eileen) Huggins, Edward (Debbie) Matthews, Timothy Matthews and Andy (Melissa) Matthews, all of Florence, Brenda (Robert) Bailey and Sabrina (Ray) Hardwick, both of Hartsville, Russell (Norma) Huggins of Tabor City, N.C., and Terry (Helen) Matthews of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Zack (Lucille) Huggins of Darlington; two sisters, Annie Mae (Lee) Adams of Darlington and Genevive Turbeville of Marion; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Gospel Temple Worship Center. Burial will follow in Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
