MULLINS — Mrs. Jane Elliott Yarboro, 85, widow of Tom Walter Yarboro, Jr., died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. She was born June 14, 1924, in Marion County, the daughter of the late Edgar Torrence Elliott, Jr. and the late Daisy Belle Hodge Elliott. Mrs. Yarboro was very active over the years in several businesses in the community, including being an award-winning real estate agent. She was a graduate of Limestone College. Mrs. Yarboro was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Handbell Choir for 23 years and in earlier years she served as choir leader. Surviving Mrs. Yarboro are 2 daughters, Mary Ellen Cate and her husband Eddie of Rome, Ga., and Beth Myers and her husband Phillip of Columbia; and 3 grandchildren, Josh Cate, Ashleigh Myers and Kellie Myers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Macedonia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kem Thomas and the Rev. Paul Frey officiating. Entombment will follow in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main St., Mullins, SC 29574.
