MARION — Faye McAlister Shelley, 58, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at home after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, entombment will follow Palmetto Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, June 5 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Shelley was born in Hannah, SC, a daughter of Elma Barrow Gray and the late Hoyt McAlister. She was also predeceased by her brother, William Donald Don McAlister. Mrs. Shelley was the Purchasing Clerk for Marion County for 26 years, and was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Harry L. Shelley of the home; son, Ronny B. Shelley and his wife Melissa, of Marion; stepfather, Bill Gray of Marion; sister, Gayle Reynolds and her husband Jack, of Maryland; and two grandsons, Brandon and Joshua Shelley, both of Marion.
