MULLINS — Mrs. Peggy Rogers Sawyer, 73, widow of L.H. Sawyer, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in Regency Hospital in Florence after an illness. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, in Watson Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Kirkland officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Sawyer was born September 9, 1933, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Howard Rogers and the late Pet Boatwright Gordon. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Sawyer are a son, Buddy Sawyer and his wife, Sherie, of Mullins; three daughters, Doris S. Hardy of Mullins, Susan S. Smith and her husband, Chip, of Mullins, and Donna S. Floyd and her husband, Mark, of Fairmont, N.C.; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and sister, Addie Hardee of Marion. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 16-A Brozzini Court, Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
