Funeral service for Mrs. Dora L. Alexander will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Chapel of Ideal Funeral Parlor. She died on Saturday, May 2, 2009 in a local hospital after an illness. Dora was born in Marion, SC, the daughter of Louise Nelson Bethea and the late Boyd, Bethea, Sr. She attended the public schools of Marion County and graduated from Johnakin High School. She was employed as a Supervisor for the Postal System in Newark, NJ until December 2001 when she retired. Survivors besides her mother are: her devoted husband of 48 years, Clyde William Alexander, Jr.; two children, Jeffery Alexander and Karen Alexander; siblings, Bill Nelson (Sharon), Levon Bethea, Lillie B. Jarrott, Marvin J. Bethea, Dorothy James, Mary L. Johnson, Herb James, Al James, Evelyn B. Goodyear, Pamela M. Pee (James), Jerry N. Bethea, Cecil James, Othello James, Joyce James and Kim Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins, other relatives and friends.
