Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Ann Wilson Covington of Marion will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Miracle Deliverance Fellowship Church, 840 Dunbar Street, Florence. Burial will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in the Florence National Cemetery. She died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in a Marion hospital. She was born February 29, 1952 in Florence, SC, the daughter of Maggie Mae Evans Braswell and the late Arthur Braswell. She attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson High School in 1970. She enlisted in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged. Her profession was that of a nurse and she worked in several areas in the health care field. Joyce was a faithful member of Miracle Deliverance Fellowship Church and was licensed as an evangelist under the leadership of Pastor Mary Ida James. Survivors besides her mother are: her husband, Marcus Covington; daughters, Lannon P. Wilson, Tanaya V. Wilson and Shana (Leonard) Webster; sons, Frank Wilson, Jr. and Kajah Elijah Wilson; brothers, Mack (Margaret) Brunson, Jr. and Jesse Brunson; sisters, Carolyn Brunson-Blue, Brenda (Pastor Anthony) Howard and Melissa Braswell; special nieces, Joye and Shekinah Smiling; mother-in-law, Judy Covington; father-in-law, Harold Covington, Sr.; grandmother-in-law, Rosa Lester; in-laws, Scott Spencer, Holly Huggins, Cassandra Little, Dean Covington, Harold Covington, Jr., Villie Roberts and Kevin Covington; her beloved dog, Lucy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
