BENNETTSVILLE - Margaret Melba Gray Belk, 88, died Thursday, May 28, 2009. Born in Bennettsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Zannie L. and Lorena Hood Gray. She was the widow of Thomas Leroy Belk, Sr. She was retired from Oak River Mills. She was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school Secretary and teacher. Surviving are her daughter, Peggy Belk Nolan of Bennettsville, SC, granddaughter, Ellie (D.J.) N. Ivey of Bennettsville, SC, stepgranddaughters, Donna (Rodney) N. Keith of Darlington, SC, Michelle (Ted) N. Huneycutt of Bennettsville, SC, great-grandchildren, Nolan Keith, Jonathan, Brandon and Damian Ivey, Melanie Honeycutt; sisters, Juanita G. Lane of Marion, SC, and Agnes G. Owens of Waverly, TN. Preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, son, Thomas Leroy Belk, Jr. and infant sons, David, John and James Belk. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home, Bennettsville, SC.
