MONCKS CORNER - Sadie Shaw Seay Poplin, 86, of Moncks Corner, widow of David A. Poplin, Jr., passed away Tuesday evening, at her son's residence in Summerville. Mrs. Poplin was born October 21, 1922, in Marion, S.C., the daughter of Charles Wells Shaw and Leona Richardson Shaw. She was a member of Bonneau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her favorite pasttimes were gardening, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are are a daughter, Sadie Seay "Sister" Taylor and her husband, Harry, of Middleburg, FL; two sons, Charles M. Seay, Sr., and his wife, Carolyn, of Summerville; and Robert S. Seay of Summerville; four sisters, Barbara Ann Brown and Betty Carol Parker, both of Moncks Corner; Margaret Williams of North Charleston; and Eleanor Martin of Charleston; a brother, Frank Shaw of Marion; a stepson, Larry Gene Poplin and his wife, Ella, of Moncks Corner; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Fox Seay, Jr. Her funeral will be at 11 o'clock, Friday morning, May 22, 2009, at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery in Charleston. Friends may call at Russell Funeral Chapel from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday evening.
