MARION | Mrs. Alma Ruth Perritt, 74, of Deer View Court, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at McLeod Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Mrs. Perritt was born September 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Auther and Arie Wiggins Perritt. Mrs. Perritt was the oldest mother of Rains Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member and was involved with the ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by two sisters, Bonnie Perritt and Virginia Perritt; and a very special friend of 32 years, Mr. William ''Colonel'' Gaston Page. Surviving are one son, Johnny Wayne Perritt and his wife, Dawn, of Conway; six sisters, Emma Mae King of Aynor, Doris Parker of Galivants Ferry, Jewell Pye of Moncks Corner, Judy James of Marion, Connie Johnson of Aynor, and Mildred Todaro of Mullins; one grandson, Dustin Perritt; and one granddaughter, Leann Perritt. Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Raines Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery.
