Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her brother, Hampton Holmes; and her three sisters, Jeanette O'Quinn, Lillie Lee, and Ann H. Cox. Survivors include her husband, George Edward Collins; her son, Kevin Collins of Nichols; her daughter, Deana F. Robinson and husband, David, of Winston Salem, N.C.; her brother, Lurie Holmes of Loris; her sister, Carolyn Johnson of Mullins; and her three grandchildren, Seth Coleman Collins, Dustin Forest Robinson, and Victoria Ann Robinson. Mr. Proctor was born June 7, 1913 in Dillon County, a son of the late Fred and Minnie Brogdon Proctor. Mr. Proctor was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Baker Proctor and a daughter, Judy P. Baggett. Mr. Proctor was also predeceased by two brothers, Ben Proctor and Odell Proctor; one sister, Ethel Lee Proctor Gibbs. Mr. Proctor was a retired farmer and a member of Hopewell Methodist Church. Mr. Proctor is survived by two sons, Ronnie Proctor (Carolyn) of Fork, Freddie Proctor (Beverly) of Mullins; one daughter, Jean P.     2. PEE DEE - Mr. H.M. “Bubba” Perritt, Jr., 90, husband of Bette Jones Perritt, died Friday, October 24, 2008, at McLeod Hospice House of Florence after an illness. He was born February 23, 1918, in Marion County, a son of the late Hassie Mullins Perritt, Sr., and the late Ida Mae Godbold Perritt. Mr. Perritt was a retired farmer and merchant. He was a U.S Army veteran, having served during World War II in England, North Africa and Italy. Mr. Perritt was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a 50 year Mason and a member of Clinton Masonic Lodge #60. He was an honorary member of the Wahee Gun Club, where he was a former director. Mr. Perritt was a former trustee of Marion School District 1, a former director of the Marion County Farm Bureau, a former commissioner of Marion County Soil and Water Conservation and a former member of the Marion County Forestry Board. He was also a former observer for the National Weather Service. Mr. Perritt was the oldest member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he had served as Trustee. Surviving Mr. Perritt, in addition to his wife of 60 years, and of the home, are: three daughters, Carol P. Lindstrom and her husband Thomas of Springboro, Ohio, Rebecca “Kitty” Perritt of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Joy E. Perritt of Peabody, Mass.; five sisters, Lois Perritt, Betty Joe Perritt and Carolyn P. Jackson, all of Marion, Jewel P. Richardson of Hartsville and Hazel Perritt of Greensboro, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Perritt was predeceased by four sisters, Lillian Perritt, Evelyn P. Grice, Ruby P. Grice and Sarah P. Turner; and two brothers, W. Ray Perritt and Leonard Perritt. Hill of Wauchula, Fla.; and 4 Sisters: Laura Mae Martin of Conway, Elizabeth Holden of Conway, Frances Daniels of Conway and Doris Benton of Wauchula, Fla. Mr. Hill was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hill and a sister, Betty Meares. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 21 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev.     2. NICHOLS | Mr. Richard Gordon Johnson, 74, of Nichols died peacefully at his home Thursday, October 16, 2008 with his family by his side. Born November 26, 1933 in Mullins, S.C., a son of the late Mayberry Gordon Johnson, and the late Margaret Dawsey Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Clemson University, and worked for the United States Department of Agriculture. After 30 years of service he retired and moved back to his home in the Pleasant View community of South Carolina, where he was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Chruch. Survivors include his wife, of 57 years, Jean Powell Johnson of the home; one son, Richard A. Johnson and wife, Evie, of Coconut Creek, Fla.; one daughter, Lavana Elston and husband, Marion, of Lake Alfred, Fla; two brothers, Lehman Johnson and Albert Johnson, both of Nichols; four sisters, Sarah Johnson of Nichols, Kay Mauriocourt of Atlanta, Ga., Rose Ventura, and Genell Owens, both of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2008 in Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Doyce Norris officiating. Committal services will follow at Princeville Cemetery. Mrs. Moody was born in Wannamaker, June 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Carlton Frantic Hooks and Edna Small Hooks Lawson. She was predeceased by her husband, LeGrande Moody and stepfather, Chalmers Lewis Lawson. She was a homemaker and member of Bermuda Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was the childrens teacher for over 50 years, was a member of the Bermuda Baptist Church WMU and the Floyd Dale Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Moody Rogers and husband, Fred Rogers; sisters, Darca High of Whiteville, N.C., and Kathleen Battle of Nichols.
