    2. Master Sergeant Jack W. Price, retired, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the age of 94. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 3 PM in Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM, Friday January 23, 2009 at the funeral home and at all other times at the home. MSG Price was born on March 17, 1914 in Marion County, SC, the son of the late John W. and Minnie Dozier Price. He married Edna Boatwright on April 14, 1942 and moved to Darlington in 1945 where they made their home. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Darlington and served on Various Committees in many capacities. Mr. Price, along with his brother Laurie Price, was the owner of Price Brothers Used Parts for many years. MSG Price began his military career by serving in the United States Naval Reserve from June 1935 to May 1939. He enlisted in the South Carolina National Guard in May 1939, serving until January 1941. In January 1941 he was inducted into active Federal Service with his unit and remained therein until August 1945. During this period of active duty, he served in the European Theatre of Operations participating in the Italian and North African Campaigns. He Reenlisted in the Army National Guard in February of 1947 and served therein until 1974. His awards and decorations include the Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, American Defense Medal WWII, South Carolina National Guard Medal, the National Guard Retirement Medal, and the Active State Service Medal. MSG Price was predeceased by his brothers, Travis E. Price and Leo C. Price; his sisters, Hazel P. Humphries, Minola P. Richardson and Lois P. Lane; and a son-in-law, Major Jerry E. Hudson, USMC, retired. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edna Boatwright Price; daughters and son-in-law, Elaine Price Hudson of Charlotte, NC and Jacquelyn Jackie P. (John) Amerson of Darlington; sisters, Miriam Causey of Dillon and Iris Clare Dowling of Lamar, and brother, Laurie Price of Darlington.     2. MARION — Leslie Wilds Clemmons, Jr., died at home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. The funeral service will be at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Marion at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, directed by Richardson Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 24, at his home, 2574 Lanneau Snipes Road in Marion, at 2:00 PM. Wilds was born on February 17, 1949. He grew up and attended school in Marion and Carolina Military Academy. Following his graduation from high school, he joined the US Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following the war he established two businesses for salvaging, restoring and reuse of wood from demolished historic homes and buildings. He enjoyed living in the country where he could hunt and fish often. His many friends will miss the game and fish he shared with them. Wilds was known and will be remembered for his generosity. Wilds was the son of the late Leslie Wilds (Bubba) Clemmons and is survived by his mother, Isabelle (Wuzzie) Clemmons of Marion. He is also survived by his wife, Becky; one son, Leslie Wilds and his wife Barbara of Conway; step-son, Cecil Bryant of Marion; step-daughters, Lisa Brewer and her husband, Lee of Mullins, Ashley Futrell and her husband, Stephen of Hartsville; three grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, and Leslie Wilds Clemmons IV; step-grandchildren, Jasmine and Amber Moore, Jordan Bryant, Zane Butler, and Austin Futrell; a sister, Isabelle Linder and husband Bill of Edisto Beach; and a brother, James Roger Clemmons of New York; and special little buddies, Garrett Gasque and Hunter Parks. Mr. Hayes was born in Mullins, S.C. on June 9, 1943, the son of the late J.B. and Lollie Grainger Hayes. He worked as a maintenance technician for several years and was co-owner and operator of his wifes business, Wandas Day Care of Lake View for 25 years. Tommy was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Lake View, having served as deacon and was former president of the Piney Grove Mens Brotherhood. He was a member of the Piney Grove Choir and served on various committees throughout the church. Tommy was a member of the Lake View Community Choir and member of Bear Swamp Baptist Church Mens Brotherhood. Tommy served his state and country as a sergeant in the S.C. Army National Guard for 21 years. He was an active member of the Retired Guardsman of S.C and he was active in the family support group of Mullins National Guard Headquarters. Tommy was president of the Southern Steel Motorcycle Club of Lake View, S.C. He was active with the annual fundraisers and benefits. He was a member and former president of the Lake View Lions Club. Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Wanda Diane Scott Hayes of the home; son, Tommy E. Hayes, Jr. (Paula) of Lake View and the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.; daughters, Kimberly Diana Brothers (Beau Kevin) of Franklin, Tennessee, and Daphne Maria Hayes of Lake View; brothers, Winston Hayes (Billie Joyce) of Florence, S.C. and Jackie Dean Hayes of Marion, S.C.; sisters, Shelby Jean Taylor (Frank) of Bennettsville, S.C. and Patsy Moore of Marion, S.C. and a host of nieces and nephews.
