    1. [SCMARION-L] subject lines
    2. Greg And Winnette
    3. Below are the subject lines on the digest mode today. You would think by now people would always place surnames (not the word) in the subject line. It is the polite thing to do. I had to open all of this email to learn there was nothing in them regarding my lines. Please can we do this small thing for each other? Thanks, Winnette ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2001 7:44 AM > SCMARION-D Digest Volume 01 : Issue 100 > > Today's Topics: > #1 Re: [SCMARION-L] Re: Marion County ["Donali Howell" <dhowell@darientel] > #2 Re: [SCMARION-L] LANE HATCHELL HER ["Charlotte Scharnhorst" <cscharn@s] > #3 [SCMARION-L] Scots connections - M [Victoria <vproc@ix.netcom.com>] > #4 Re: [SCMARION-L] Surnames ["mwbrown" <mwbrown@mail.esc4.com>] > #5 Re: [SCMARION-L] Scots connections ["Bill Vincent" <billvinc@bcpl.net>] > #6 [SCMARION-L] Johnson-Purvis-Enloe ["HELEN LANE CARMICHAEL" <lanehelen] > #7 [SCMARION-L] McRae -Smith -Baxley ["HELEN LANE CARMICHAEL" <lanehelen] > #8 [SCMARION-L] Church-Rouse ["HELEN LANE CARMICHAEL" <lanehelen] > #9 [SCMARION-L] Surnames ["Al Munden" <mundenal@home.com>] > #10 [SCMARION-L] Surnames---McCrimmon [JIM WILKINS <murphdog@bellsouth.ne] > #11 [SCMARION-L] CRAWFORD SURNAME QUES [JIM WILKINS <murphdog@bellsouth.ne] > #12 [SCMARION-L] (no subject) [CAROLSSPOT@aol.com] > #13 [SCMARION-L] Tyler [CAROLSSPOT@aol.com] > #14 RE: [SCMARION-L] Surnames (Tyler, [william snipes <wsnipes@krl.org>] > #15 RE: [SCMARION-L] Surnames (Altman, [william snipes <wsnipes@krl.org>] > #16 RE: [SCMARION-L] Surnames (Askins, [william snipes <wsnipes@krl.org>] > #17 RE: [SCMARION-L] Surnames (Baker) [william snipes <wsnipes@krl.org>] > #18 Re: [SCMARION-L] Marion Surnames [ImPopBob@aol.com] > #19 Re: [SCMARION-L] Marion Surnames ["Bill Vincent" <billvinc@bcpl.net>] > #20 Re: [SCMARION-L] Marion Surnames [ImPopBob@aol.com] > #21 RE: [SCMARION-L] Marion Surnames - ["Mildred Venitucci" <emvee@kingwoo] > #22 Re: [SCMARION-L] Marion County Sur ["Delaney" <DelaneyB@mindspring.com] > #23 Re: [SCMARION-L] Re: Marion County ["Delaney" <DelaneyB@mindspring.com] > #24 Re: [SCMARION-L] Lousia HERRING, b ["PHIL PRICE" <PMPrice@prodigy.net>] > #25 [SCMARION-L] Re: Marion County Sur ["Joanne Harley" <harleyclan@coasta] > #26 [SCMARION-L] Computer Question for [Dls4140406@aol.com] > #27 Re: [SCMARION-L] Computer Question ["Donali Howell" <dhowell@darientel] > #28 [SCMARION-L] Marion Surnames ["Harper" <harper@unr.net>] > #29 [SCMARION-L] Surnames: BOATWRIGHT, [FBothwell@aol.com] > #30 Re: [SCMARION-L] Lousia HERRING, b [Pollywog1930@aol.com] > #31 [SCMARION-L] Surnames [Logmore@aol.com] > #32 [SCMARION-L] Surnames [Sbrumbles@aol.com] > #33 Re: [SCMARION-L] Surnames [ImPopBob@aol.com] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from SCMARION-D, send a message to > > SCMARION-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text. 3. The first thing I would do is create a gedcom of your entire file and load it on a friend/relative's computer, fast. Then you can look around for another software; you can always download PAF from the Family Search webpage. Bill

    3. Mildred, I know nothing about the Roper line except that most every name in Marion County is mentioned in the 775 page "The Stackhouse Family" book which suffers from the lack of an index. The book does have the information that the mother of William Russell Stackhouse (that I mentioned to Bob Campbell) was Martha Roper, who married Isaac Stackhouse on 23 Dec 1816. She was born 1 Feb 1798 to John and Martha Capel Roper and she died on 16 February 1853. The book was published by the Stackhouse Foundation (a project of John Stackhouse).based on traditional reports garnered from the extended family over many years and is not without mistakes but many of the respondents, or their descendants, are still living to ask since the book was published in 1993 and their mailing addresses are usually noted. The address for ordering the book is P.O. Box 1139, Morehead City, NC, 28557-1139 Bill in Baltimore ----- Original Message ----- From: Mildred Venitucci <emvee@kingwoodcable.com> To: <SCMARION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 05, 2001 7:18 PM Subject: RE: [SCMARION-L] Marion Surnames - Roper, Bridges > I have an Elizabeth Bridges who married a Frederick Roper. 3. I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know there are some forums out there that answer questions on different types of software & how to overcome problems with them. I think some are on the genealogy.com website, but I don't remember the name of the forum. If you don't get an answer here, you might try looking for one of those. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Dls4140406@aol.com> To: <SCMARION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 05, 2001 10:06 PM Subject: [SCMARION-L] Computer Question for Ultimate Family Tree Users | I have used the Deluxe Ultimate Family Tree Genealogy computer program for | several years now. 3. Charlotte, Luckily, all the BETHEAs in Old Marion County are related, giving those of us who live outside the area lots of good references for research. My line is through William BETHEA b. 1769 who married Mary SHACKELFORD b.1784. William was the son of Buck Swamp John BETHEA. I know you will enjoy tracking this line. All the descendants are so generous to share.
