LITTLE RIVER Agnes L. `Reba' Brown Agnes Lewis "Reba" Brown, 70, of Minneola Avenue, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, in Savannah, Ga. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Alfred Copeland and Essie V. Jones Lewis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Little River. She retired as owner and operator of the restaurant formerly known as The Terra-Mar in Little River. Survivors include a son, Robert C. Brown of Columbia; a daughter, Linda Brown Siceloff of Little River; two brothers, J. Arnet Lewis of North Myrtle Beach and A. Iverson Lewis of Little River; two sisters, A. Naomi Coleman of Clearwater, Fla., and E. Froneez Costner of Hanahan; two grandchildren, Matthew J. Brown and Allyn M. Brown, both of Annapolis, Md. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the home, on Schoolhouse Circle in Little River. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Little River. Dr. Stan Fields will officiate. Burial will be in North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens. Born October 23, 1926, in Columbus Co., N.C., a daughter of the late Simp Coleman and Madgie Edwards Coleman. She was a graduate of Cerro Gordo High School and was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of Nichols Baptist Church and a homemaker. Surviving are her daughter, Marcia W. Grainger of Nichols; brother, Simp Franklin Coleman of Cerro Gordo, N.C.; sister, Ada Coleman Floyd of Whiteville, N.C.; granddaughters, Moni Allyn Grainger, Jodi D. Leo D. Todd Leo Durham Todd, 75, of Highway 931, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the Medical University of South Carolina after an illness. He was born in Conway, a son of the late Durham and Blanche Stevens Todd. He was a member of Free Welcome Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Billy Todd of Conway, David C. Todd and his wife, Karen, of Loris and LeGrande Todd and his wife, Gloria, of Galivants Ferry; a daughter, Wanda Dew and her husband, Wayne, of Conway; a brother, J.C. Todd of Conway; four sisters, Gussie Sellers of Aynor, Alene Todd and Pearl Davis both of Conway and Elise Williams of Charleston; and five grandchildren, Kevin Todd and his wife, Candace, Mike Todd, Jarrod Dew, Robbie Todd and Crystal Todd. Nov 14, 2001 Liston Calvin Cook Jr. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- On Monday, Nov. 12, 2001 after 69 years of working hard and laughing often, Liston "Buck" Calvin Cook Jr. passed away. Family and friends will join together for a visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. today at First United Pentecostal Church, 4929 N. Sharon Amity Road. On Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. funeral services will be at the church. Born in Dillon to parents Mollie Lane and Liston Calvin Cook Sr., Buck worked heard all his life to provide for his family and himself. Buck had recently retired from Stanley Lab, but continued to work delivering medical supplies to elderly and homebound clients. Buck is survived by his wife, Donna Cook of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Tracie Cook of Charlotte, a student at ECU; daughter, Debra Todd and husband Dale of Loris; daughter, Brenda Williams and husband Ricky of Nakina, N.C.; daughter Linda Coleman and husband Anthony of Fork; son, Bobby Cook and wife Faye of Darlington; stepdaughter Kellie Johnson and husband Roland Jr. of Concord, N.C.; stepson Bud Reed of Nathan's Creek, N.C.; sister Lila Caulder of Latta; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his hungry dog, Shiloh. Buck is missed by his family and friends. His easy laughter, constant humor, and innumerable stories about Grandma Pa, Aunt El, and life on the farm will echo in our heads and hearts. As he pain of mourning lessens and we go on with our everyday lives, we will carry a piece of him in ourselves and will be better people because of it. He was born in Clarendon County, a son of the late Joseph Howard and Emma Osborne Baird. He was a member of the Masons, Woodstone Hunting Club and First Southern Methodist Church. He was a former employee of the A&P Stores and had retired as Maintenance Coordinator for Chase Oil. Surviving are his wife, Louise Christmas Baird of Florence; two daughters, Gwen (Earl) Jackson and Debbie Baker both of Florence; three sisters, Lois Smith of Rock Hill, Esther Morris of New Zion and Melva Christmas of Florence; four grandchildren, Richard Jackson of Mechanicsville, Christie Jackson, Cindy McDougal and Laura Baker all of Florence; and one great grandchild, Tyler Baker of Florence. Born December 24, 1918, in Marion Co., he was a son of the late Jimmy John Cribb and Mary Frances Richardson Cribb. Mr. Cribb was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Ariel Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and a former church treasurer for 20 years. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Christine Brown Cribb of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ray Strickland; son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. Cribb of Marion, Terry H. Jo Anne G. Simmons Jo Anne Galloway Simmons, 63, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at home after an illness. She was born in the Mars Bluff section of Florence County, a daughter of the late Joseph C. Galloway and Annie Sue Smith Galloway. She moved to Pawleys Island from Columbia in 1997 after retiring from the Federal Government Office of Hearings and Appeals as a hearing assistant. She was a member of St. Pauls Waccamaw United Methodist Church and was a volunteer with Hospice of Georgetown County. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, James "Jim" R. Simmons of Pawleys Island; a daughter, Julie Simmons DuMont of Pawleys Island; a son, Dr. James R. Simmons Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Ruston, La.; a brother, Jack Galloway of Atlanta; a sister Rhoda McElveen of Orange Park, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Courtenay Simmons and Cord Simmons, both of Ruston. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pauls, Waccamaw, United Methodist Church in Litchfield. Bratcher Sr. and the late Blanche Anderson Bratcher. She was the stepdaughter of the late Sadie Graham Bratcher. She was a member of Bayboro Baptist Church and retired from Loris Community Hospital as a nursing assistant. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Raymond "Buster" Black of Loris; a son, Charles R. Black of Loris; a daughter, Geraldine B. Sanders and her husband, Douglas, of Conway; four grandchildren, Wanda Black and Penny Black of Loris, Wallace Black and his wife, Susie, of Nichols, and Michelle Sanders of Surfside Beach; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Henry Bratcher, S.G. Bratcher Jr. and William "Bill" Bratcher. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Bayboro Baptist Church.
