Gene was born June 2, 1948 in Marion County, a son of the late Pearly and Mary Ethel Smith Lewis. He worked with the City of Mullins Maintenance Department. Surviving are two sons, Tony Lewis and his wife, Tammy, of Mullins and Chad Lewis and his wife, April, of Mullins; three grandchildren, Brandon James Lewis, Casey Nicole Lewis and Bryson Edward Lewis; a sister, Shirley L.     3. Looking for information on George Henry Gunter b. 1860 m Minnie Barnhill b Sept 28, 1869. Have found old family picture believed to be Susan Gunter who was married to a James Gunter. They are in the census for Brittions Neck in 1860 and Marion County in 1850. Found a Henry Gunter married to a Pauline in 1860 with a son George H. Henry could be James son. In 1870 only find James and Susan but they now have a George with them. Henry and Pauline I cannot find. In 1880 Susan is widowed with George still at home. These cesus records do not provide family relationships so I don't know if George is son or grandson. Does anyone know of any information on this family of know where I could look? My dad was born in Yadkin Co., NC but my mom, Elizabeth Nell Brown Vestal, is from Marion Co., SC Barbara Submitters note: Jake "Freddie" was born July 17, 1933 Marion Co., SC. Brown, Jake Frederick Mr. Jake Frederick Brown, 72, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center. Jake was born in Marion County, S.C., to the late Jake and Rosa Brown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Robert Brown. Jake was of the Baptist faith, was an avid gardener and loved fishing. He retired from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (Engineering). Zack ran off and joined the Navy when he was young, and managed to enlist by lying about his age. AFter WW I, he must have come back home and married Thelma. I do not have her birth dates. Zack and Thelma had four children. The oldest was Zack, Jr, who moved up to Lima, Ohio.. and then there was a daughter named "Sister". The third child was Patricia, then Ronnie. Thelma and Zack divorced and Thelma lived in Marion until she died. I've lost touch with most of this family.. but did wonder if thelma still had any family keeping up with the Gresham side .
