Spivey gives this information: "John Hendrix, born ca 1761 [son of Tobias Hendrix, Sr. (the son of Henry Albertus Hendricks, born ca 1705 in Chester County Pennsylvania, and Lucy Duckett Miller) and Margaret Sprencknel] married Mary ____. One of their children was Margaret Hendrix, born 11 August 1790 in Lexington SC, died 27 February 1866 in Little Oak, Pike County, Alabama, married John Wiley Shultz, Sr., born 11 September 1787 in Lexington SC, died 4 April 1846 in Little Oak, Alabama, veteran of the War of 1812." The children of Tobias Hendrix and Margaret Sprencknel are listed as: 1) John, b. ~1761; 2) Elizabeth, b. ~1757; 3) Henry; 4) Peter, b. ~1765; 5) David, b. ~1782; 6) Samuel; 7) Tobias, b. 13 Jun 1759. John was a carpenter, David a bricklayer, and Henry a tavern-keeper. The Hendrix sons are mentioned in Edwin J. Scott, "Random Recollections of a Long Life: 1806 to 1876".
