Linda, thank you so much for your reply to my query regarding Thomas Taylor of Lexington. It is very kind of you. The only real information I have on Thomas (b. 1823) is that he left Lexington District and was residing in Alabama in the 1860 census. Your question about if he died in the CSA is no. Thomas was married and had four small children when his wife died in a fire. This left him a widower with four small children thus he was ineligible to be a soldier during the war but he was a member of the Home Guard. Could you clarify for me who James Jacob and Amos were? Were they brothers to Thomas? Would this family be listed on a census record that I could look up birth dates, etc.? Do you know anything more about Baden and Bethany Taylor from NC? Or have any suggestions as to where I might look to find out? Again, thank you so much for your help. BWC
