Lindford Franklin Barefoot , 70 , of near Gaston , died at his home after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock Saturday from Antioch Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Hammond of Columbia. Burial will follow in the churchyard. Mr. Barefoot had lived in the Gaston community for 45 years where he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his widow , Mrs. Ella Hutto Barefoot; two daughters , Mrs. Ollie Redmond of Pelion and Mrs. Jimmie Pound of Swansea; five sons, Clifton Barefoot of West Columbia , Veston Barefoot of Aiken , Haston Barefoot of Leesville, Dempsey Brefoot and Brinkley Barefoot , both of Gaston. Also surviving are three stepsons; C.S. Cook of Rock Hill, Grady Hutto and Harold Hutto of Gaston and a half-brother Richard Sanders of Gaston and 19 grandchildren.
